Johan Kappelhof Named to MLS Team of the Week

Johan Kappelhof

Johan Kappelhof's contributions to a second straight Chicago Fire clean sheet and a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union landed the Dutch centerback on the MLS Team of the Week.

Kappelhof, who signed with the Fire on Feb. 2 after five seasons with Dutch Eredivisie side FC Groningen, has featured prominently in Chicago's efforts to hold opponents scoreless for an active streak of 265 minutes, dating to the club's March 11 draw at Orlando City SC. Per OPTA, Chicago remains one of two MLS clubs yet to concede a goal after the 75th minute of a match this season (Toronto FC is the other).

Kennedy Igboananike also earned a place in the Team of the Week bench after his game-winning strike against Philadelphia.
